To get in, make sure you have a littleMay 19 2012Political Science
To get in, make sure you have a little bit of everything, they are truly starting to look for well-rounded students more than anything. So have good grades, good ACT/ SAT, lots of community service, play a sport, be in clubs, do it all.
ACT: 29 SAT: 1250 Male
Meet the pre-reqs, and the GPA requirement and youMay 13 2012Political Science
Meet the pre-reqs, and the GPA requirement and you will be admitted, period. I had a transfer student friend who had a 4.0, won countless awards (including national math club championships) but failed to get all the pre-reqs for the degree and was denied.
ACT: 32 Male
To get in make sure you have good ACT/SATJan 29 2012Biology
To get in make sure you have good ACT/SAT scores and GPA. GPA ranges from 3.6-4.5, To be considered. I would say for Act the range would be from the 19's to the 22's for the AVERAGE student. For SAT'S the 1400's should suffice. My friend got a 1300 and she got accepted but they put her in remediation. Which is basically she has to attend during summer so they could see if the scores and her GPA weren't just "a stroke of luck".
ACT: 18 SAT: 1390 Female
Lots of unique volunteer work, good grades, the usualJul 21 2011Sociology
ACT: 31 SAT: 1380 Female
Don't be afraid to be creative, inspired, and imaginativeJun 28 2011Psychology
Don't be afraid to be creative, inspired, and imaginative. That's what they want. They don't want the token kid who got good grades and didn't do any extracurricular activities because he thought he could get by on brains alone. But these people want innovators. They want passion and excitement in their students rather than just a desire for an A. So take risks. Take AP classes, and don't drop out of them just because you're afraid of getting a B in the course or a 3 on the AP Test. Chances are, you'll do a lot better than you think. And join some clubs that spark your interest. You don't have to be on all the sports teams or be a part of every honor society to get in. Just do something you're interested in and that you can have a fiery conversation about. At least have fire for something. Have a story. Leave a mark. Because your entrance essay is going to need to be inspired rather than generic. SAT scores are important, but your own story and drive and passion are the keys.
